Making Donations a Key Income Stream

Donations is an income stream often under-rated or overlooked.

Sometimes myths and beliefs create barriers to exploring donations – people only give small donations, people are not giving since COVID or don’t give during a recession. The truth is we know giving does not decrease during a recession, giving levels are returning to pre-COVID levels ($43.5 million was donated through the Givealittle platform in 2023, up 18.8% on 2022) and there are a large number of varied ways your organisation can tap into donations as an important income stream.

How do you attract potential donors to your cause?

In the workshop we will:

  • Explore donations from a donor’s point of view; Discover what motivates people to give and what things do they consider when deciding who to support?
  • Share practical tips to help you be prepared to make the ask.
  • Share all the different ways your organisation can tap into donations – there are many!
  • Explore how technology has made asking for and making donations easier.
  • Share practical ideas for nurturing donors once they come on board and transforming one-time donors to regular supporters.

We’ll share stories about organisations who are really successful at attracting donations and you’ll walk away with practical tips for implementing your plan for building donations income.

The workshop is brought to you through a generous subsidy from BayTrust and delivered by Exult and SociaLink.
